I am not sure of the accuracy of the depiction of the events and the authenticity of the places where everything happened, but I vouch for the authenticity of the impressions.
On my first day in Bristol, while walking with my grandson, I came across a bicycle with a note taped to the saddle: “Have fun. I bought myself a new one. But this one’s not bad either.” Within a year, I had ridden it around most of the ceremonial county in southwest England. I’m still pedalling it, and I’m happy.
